Our experience in M&A uniquely positions Capella to provide our Coaching Solutions to leaders in an acquisition and integration environment.  We understand the situational and leadership dilemmas associated with M&A and customize our approach to include solutions to these very unique dilemmas.

Situation:

Ø  Acquisitions expand the geographic footprint and  require an increased level of  knowledge specifically related to the new demographics of existing and potential customers and employees

Ø  Existing (pre-acquisition) goals and commitments to customers, employees and shareholders must be achieved in addition to the integration (post-acquisition) goals to the same constituents

Ø  The new organization structure often results in changes for each leader.  For instance:

§  A redesign of the peer  group

§  An increased span of control and/or total number of employees on the team

§  A new direct manager

§  Expanded geographic location of direct reports and employees on the team

§  Raised expectations regarding interaction with Executives and members of the Board

Ø  Additional leadership skills and communication are required to work horizontally within the organization chart, not just vertically

Ø  Many leaders are promoted into a new role without any prior experience
